With atheistic secularism and nihilist philosophy guiding the western world for the past 100+ years, art has experienced a shift into something raising the chaotic. There is something alien, soulless, without direction in the modern expression. Beginning with this album and with subsequent releases it has been my intention to bring my Orthodox Christian faith into my music. This release was inspired by a conversation with a Illumined Orthodox Heiromonk who encouraged me to "make the new genre". I still believe all music carrys on from previous ideas, however I've found the modern music scene: heavy, hopeless, full of post-modern catch phrases, and utterly meaningless. I wanted to make music that truly reflects my Christian spiritual values at a very deep level.
